My Role
Starting as a scribe and rising through the ranks to senior QA and training manager, I played a pivotal role in elevating our team's performance by addressing pain points with creative solutions. Using a strategic approach and innovative problem-solving, I led initiatives to boost quality scores across the board by streamlining training and optimizing reference resources. Recognizing the need for a major overhaul, I revamped our training materials, style guides, and process documentation. The result? A team that consistently delivered high-quality work, with new hires onboarded swiftly and producing accurate transcripts. Our improved workflows and standardized processes led to better communication and uniform application of policy, fostering a productive, efficient, and fair work environment for our 200+ team members across four offices in two US states.

My Role
Donning the hats of both QA copy editor and SEO copywriter, I specialized in producing short-form content to drive call center traffic and convert leads—to the tune of an average $30-60K monthly conversion revenue. Acting as part of a dynamic cross-functional team, I strategically curated media for digital placement, wrote and edited compelling copy while adhering to style guides and SEO best practices, and trained new hires. Most notably, I blazed the telework trail in 2013 as the company’s first full-time remote employee.

My role
As a freelancer, I collaborated with a diverse clientele, offering services such as transcribing audio files, writing and editing various content types, and providing project-based support. I positioned myself as a writer/editor with the admin chops to manage complex projects, or an administrative professional with the language skills to handle writing and editing tasks. This experience solidified my ability to tackle creative, technical, and business support undertakings while ensuring client satisfaction.

QA Transcript Editor
The Business
Connecting businesses with experts and consultants with specialized knowledge in their field of operation, hosting and recording online interviews and guest panels about industry-specific topics, and producing transcripts of those encounters
My Role
As a QA Transcript Editor for this unique business model, I was responsible for ensuring the utmost of accuracy and quality for transcripts produced from audio files of expert encounters. Every encounter was wildly different, featuring speakers from all around the world addressing topics from any and every industry. It could be something simple like cosmetics or clothing, or something far more complex and technical like biosciences, cancer research, engineering, manufacturing, alternative energy—you name it, we probably covered it in a transcript at least once. It was my duty to listen to every single word of the audio, fact check spelling and accuracy of company names and technical terminology, and use intelligent verbatim methodology to create grammatically correct sentences while adhering to style guide and project specs, all while navigating challenges with accents and audio issues. After each transcript was painstakingly edited, I would then score the transcript and provide feedback for the original transcriptionist, before sending the polished piece directly to the client.

My Role
As part proofreader and part administrative support assistant, I ensured the accurate and timely processing of tax returns, financial statements, payroll, and various accounting materials for hundreds of clients. This multifaceted role demanded expertise in business administration, from maintaining detailed shipping logs to managing intricate projects with many moving parts. With financial matters and confidential data at stake, precision was paramount and mistakes weren’t an option. I meticulously proofread every document, met stringent Federal deadlines, upheld GAPS standards, and adeptly navigated client interactions under intense pressure.

My Role
As the founding chair of a company-sponsored employee resource group for a multibillion-dollar marketing business, I managed the overall strategy and activity of the group as well as a $12k annual budget. As the group’s Copywriter, I crafted all content, including e-newsletters, guest spots, internal wiki site, and event materials. I worked extensively with in-house editors for every piece, ensuring the highest quality writing while adhering to parameters enforced by marketing and HR leaders. This exciting endeavor gave me first-hand experience with the creative, collaborative process of content production.

QA Specialist - Campaign Distribution

Solving MarTech issues for corporate clients
My Role
Employing a sharp eye for detail and a deep familiarity with email marketing principles, I proofed email and SMS campaigns for issues related to spelling, grammar, style, consistency, visual rendering, functionality, link tracking, and deployment details. I offered suggestions to improve copy, ensured all content aligned with source-of-truth materials (content templates, copy decks, creative comps, etc.), and verified that tracking and deployment details within SFMC matched spreadsheet data. Additionally, I collaborated with platform developers and project managers to resolve issues and produce high-quality content. I also pitched, designed, created, and deployed new tools, processes, checklists, and wiki content to enhance process documentation and streamline workflows. Notably, I worked closely with the Creative Director on a thorough, line-by-line copy edit of the company’s website rebrand, suggesting copy improvements and testing UI functionality throughout the process.
